Annie Kostrubanic

Assistant Manager [Pine]

Annie grew up in Massachusetts and started working at 15 years old, beginning at a local supermarket where she was eventually promoted to bookkeeper. After high school, she moved to San Francisco to study Political Science while also helping open a Taiwanese shaved snow shop, later becoming the store manager.

After graduating, Annie followed her growing curiosity about coffee and became a barista at a café on Haight Street while also working in native habitat restoration for the City of San Francisco. Through both jobs, she found herself most drawn to work centered around people, connection, and community.

Annie loves customer engagement and believes food has a unique way of bringing together people from all walks of life. Whether it’s sharing a laugh, helping resolve a tough moment, or simply making someone feel seen and heard, she values the everyday interactions that make hospitality meaningful.

In 2021, shortly after moving to Philadelphia, Annie spotted a Craigslist ad for a barista position at Mighty Bread Co.’s newly opened café and jumped at the opportunity to work at a sourdough bakery. Encouraged by her sister, who had been baking sourdough at home herself, Annie was eager to learn the “insider secrets.” She has been part of Mighty Bread ever since.

Outside of work, Annie loves pierogies, considers the Corn Porridge bread her favorite loaf at Mighty Bread, and enjoys watching 90 Day Fiancé with her tortoiseshell cat, Patsy.
